Residency Programs
St. Mary’s Medical Center General Surgery Residency Program provide a supportive and collaborative environment. The program is designed to build confidence, independence, and professionalism ensuring patients will receive the highest in quality care.
This residency program provides hands-on learning consisting of practical doctoring skills such as ordering and interpreting tests, making diagnoses, performing surgeries, etc. Additionally, the program director help coach and build decision-making techniques, leadership skills, and burnout prevention.
St. Mary’s Medical Center five-year residency program prepare each resident to pass the Boards and are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), sponsored by the Kansas City University Graduate Medical Education Consortium.
One of the most important steps in becoming a doctor is residency. The residency programs at St. Mary’s Medical Center provide a dynamic learning environment that emphasizes the fundamentals of patient care by developing both medical and interpersonal skills.
