Sleep Clinic

If you’re tired and run down, you might not be sleeping at night. Many people blame getting older, or a hectic lifestyle for their tiredness but you might have a sleep disorder.

Some estimates say that nearly ten percent of all people in the United States have some form of sleep disorder. Untreated, sleep disorders can greatly affect daytime functioning. Some sufferers awaken with headaches; others may be irritable and forgetful, sometimes finding it difficult to concentrate for the rest of the day.

We understand the frustration that comes with living with a sleeping disorder. They can stem from many medical conditions, from gastrointestinal problems to cardiac disease and can be difficult to diagnose. A sleep study is necessary to correctly identify a sleep disorder and receive treatment.

Take our sleep assessment below to determine if you may need a sleep study.

Sleep Assessment

  1. Do you snore loudly (louder than talking or loud enough to be heard through closed doors)?
  2. Do you often feel tired, fatigued, or sleepy during daytime?
  3. Has anyone observed you stop breathing during your sleep?
  4. Do you have or are you being treated for high blood pressure?
  5. Do you wake during the night due to heartburn or regurgitation?
  6. Do you notice your legs twitching or kicking at night?
  7. Do you have any heart disease?
  8. Are you overweight?

If you answered yes to three or more of these questions, be sure to follow up with your family physician for any possible sleep disorders. A physician order is necessary to schedule a sleep study but please feel free to call 816-655-5394 for more information.
